Held virtually, graduate students from around the world present scholarly work on a host of questions and topics related to 2022 Nasher Prize Laureate Nairy Baghramian in lunchtime sessions from 12 - 1 p.m. over three days.

The Nasher Prize Graduate Symposium, started in 2017, provides graduate students from around the world with the opportunity to present new scholarship on the work of each year’s laureate. A weeklong virtual event, the symposium is one of the key ways that the Nasher Sculpture Center encourages the creation of new research on the practice of contemporary sculpture.

This year’s symposium will be moderated by Dr. Catherine Craft, curator at the Nasher Sculpture Center. Students selected to present papers will also have their work published in the annual symposium compendium, together with the paper delivered by the keynote speaker, Miwon Kwon, the Walter Hopps Chair in Modern and Contemporary Art, Department of Art History, UCLA.
