This program takes place offsite at Texas Counter Fitters, 909 N Bowser Road, Richardson TX. Registration is $45 for Nasher Members and $55 for non-Members, and includes drinks, bites, and all art-making supplies. Advance registration required.
About the artist
Youssef El Berrichi is the founder and director of Juduur Academy, a Rabat-based institution dedicated to Arabic language learning and cultural engagement with Morocco and the wider SWANA region. Deeply committed to fostering intercultural understanding, Youssef designs immersive experiences that bring together language, art, history, and community.
Youssef has taught at Middlebury College and has lectured extensively on the SWANA region, particularly Morocco, at colleges and high schools across the United States. In addition, he has led hands-on cultural workshops at more than 100 libraries, universities, and high schools, introducing participants to the richness of Moroccan traditions, including the intricate art of zellij (mosaic), calligraphy, music, and weaving.
In addition to his teaching and public programming, Youssef organizes customized travel experiences to Morocco, offering participants the opportunity to engage directly with the country’s culture, landscapes, and artistic traditions in meaningful and immersive ways. He is also the co-founder of the Yallah AlQuds virtual exchange program, which brings together bilingual participants through dialogue and collaborative cultural learning.
