An observation-based drawing class with instruction by artist Michael O’Keefe. This five-session program, ideal for both beginners and experienced artists, will investigate foundational ideas of the language of drawing. Participants will use the sculpture, galleries and garden of the Nasher Sculpture Center as the subject for a series of drawings exploring ideas of perspective, the figure/ground relationship, volume and contour, reduction and artistic handwriting. Each session will begin with a brief introduction to the day’s topic, followed by time spent drawing with instruction.
