Soundings: New Music at the Nasher begins its sixth season with Yellow Barn's Music Haul, a traveling stage that will journey from Putney, Vermont to Dallas and will instantly transform a street corner into a music hall.

Individual tickets on sale now. Performance to take place on Flora Street in front of the Nasher Sculpture Center.

Yellow Barn, an international center for chamber music in Putney, Vermont, introduces its traveling concert stage that redefines what a concert hall can be, bringing music to grammar schools and conservatories, urban neighborhoods and arts-districts, city lots, and open fields. It plays for people regardless of their experience with or knowledge of music, their attention captured in the unexpected moment. With Yellow Barn’s Music Haul we realize music’s fundamental purpose and inherent ability to communicate in ways that defy definition and move us without explanation.

Music Haul’s first traveling troupe, accordionist Merima Kljuco, percussionist Ian Rosenbaum and Rabbit Rabbit, the song-spinning duo of Carla Kihlstedt and Matthias Bossi, presents A Memory Palace, a program that looks at how we remember, sifting experience through memory in creating the elusive and poetic truth with which we define ourselves.

Wine reception and seating included for ticketed guests.

PLUS! Community performances coming to a Dallas neighborhood near you on Wednesday, October 21 and Thursday, October 22. Follow the Nasher on social media for more information.
