Manager of Patron Gifts
The Manager of Patron Services reports to the Director of Development.

Working closely with the Director and the Executive Director, engages in cultivation of existing donors, as well as engaging in direct solicitation of new patron members to meet or exceed stated revenue goals.

In compliance with the Executive Director and the Committee Chair, additional responsibilities include maintenance and ongoing stewardship of the Program Advisory Committee, an important advisory panel of interested community leaders that review and make suggestions regarding Nasher programming initiatives. Patron travel ideas, both domestic and international are discussed and vetted by this committee on an ongoing basis.

In the coming year, the Manager of Patron Services will oversee the activities of the committee as it engages in strategic planning and initial oversight of the Nasher’s 10-year Anniversary Project.

Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with other patron managers of non-profit arts organizations in the Metroplex to listen for new cultivation opportunities in the community. Is active in the local philanthropic community, building relationships with other development professionals and potential donors. Maintains important hotline access for all patron members, to resolve membership issues/questions immediately and with professionalism. Is proactive in upgrade solicitations of existing members, fostering ongoing discussions that highlight upcoming exhibitions and education programming that require additional institutional support.

In conjunction with the Executive Office, External Affairs and Special Events staff, organizes and executes private cultivation and external affair dinners/receptions that include existing and potential patrons. Monitors and/or attends these events, as required.

Organizes and facilitates patron travel programs, as well as Study Circle member trips that occur regularly throughout the year. Manage all aspects of these domestic and international trips from original concept to travel, hotel and dining accommodations, when necessary.

Responsible for long and short term strategic planning, budgeting, and reporting for the patron membership department. Responsible for managing general patron membership renewal, solicitation, cultivation and upgrade campaigns. Administrative duties include mailings of invitations, annual mailings to patrons, purchase order generation and other related administrative activities.
 
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Generate copy and approve design for all Patron Member communications including invitations, e-vites, newsletters, e-newsletters, renewal notices, e-renewal notices, and solicitations.
  • Track financial goals against earned revenue to assess success of existing programs.
  • Create budget for department 35 and manage membership expenses to ensure budgetary control.
  • Evaluate and revise membership benefits annually; determine the tax deductibility of member benefits on an annual basis; plan for benefit fulfillment; and update membership correspondence accordingly.
  • Work with the Public Events Manager and External Affairs staff to plan and implement important cultivation and sustaining events for Patron members.
The Nasher Sculpture Center seeks an experienced development professional. The Manager of Patron Services is responsible for long and short term strategic planning in securing the growth and maturation of the Patron membership base, budgeting, and reporting for an important source of support and revenue for the institution. Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and minimum three to five years, with deep commitment and relationships in the Metroplex fundraising community. Raiser’s Edge experience required. Summer Education Internship
The Summer Education Intern will work closely with the Education Department at the Nasher Sculpture Center on a variety of education programs and projects. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the operation of summer youth and teacher programs.
  • Research selected artworks in the Nasher Collection and participate in discussions about gallery interpretation.
  • Complete an individual research project that will contribute to the development of new educational resources for students or teachers.
  • Assist with administrative duties as needed.
 
Qualifications
  • At least two years of work towards a B.A. in Studio Art, Art History, Art Education or other relevant field.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work both independently and with a team.
  • Professional presence and appearance.
  • Computer literacy, email access, proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer required.
 
Commitment: 15-20 hours per week, June 5 – August 4, 2012.
