Do you love art? Would you like to meet artists and museum professionals? Would you enjoy learning along with other creative high school students? The Summer Institute for Teens is a week-long program that exposes students to many aspects of museums and the art world. This is a workshop focused on connecting with peers and exploring new ideas rather than a technical or portfolio-based program.
This program will meet at Nasher Sculpture Center June 22–24 and at The Warehouse Dallas June 25–26.
Students who have completed 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in 2026 may apply.
Priority deadline: April 10, 2026. Up to 30 students will be accepted. Finalists will be selected by staff and will be notified of their acceptance by April 24 if application is submitted by priority deadline.
Participants will:
- Learn about careers in the arts from art-world professionals
- Explore artworks at The Warehouse and Nasher Sculpture Center
- Create hands-on projects focused on major ideas in modern and contemporary art with professional artists
- Exchange ideas with peers interested in the arts
An ideal candidate:
- Shows strong interest in pursuing a college degree or career in art history, studio art, or art education
- Pursues creative interests outside of school assignments
- Maintains a positive attitude and works well with others
