Master Class Featuring Leon Fleisher

With Cliburn Competition Alumni

Nasher Sculpture Center is honored to collaborate with The Cliburn to present pianist Leon Fleisher, one of the great interpreters and pedagogues of our time, in two public master classes at Texas Christian University on Monday, May 12 at 6pm and Tuesday, May 13 at 3pm.

Mr. Fleisher’s classes will focus on works by Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Ravel, and Schumann performed by pianists who have participated in the past two Van Cliburn International Piano Competitions. 
 
Mr. Fleisher will also appear in concert on Thursday, May 15th at the Nasher Sculpture Center as part of the Soundings music series with the Juilliard Quartet in a performance of Johannes Brahms’ Piano Quintet and Cliburn Competition alumni in a collaborative performance of Olivier Messiaen’s Visions de l’Amen.

Tomoki Sakata– Sonata in E-flat Major, op. 81a “Les Adieux”, Ludwig van Beethoven
Alex McDonald– Alborado del grazioso, Maurice Ravel
