Avant Garde Displays to be Unveiled at NorthPark Center on Wednesday, March 26

Dallas, Texas -- Douglas Little, founder of D.L. & Co. and “the modern alchemist and purveyor of curious goods,” has been commissioned by the Nasher Sculpture Center Store to create window art installations for Fashion at the Park at NorthPark Center. The installations will be revealed in the VIP Lounge, as well as in the windows of the Nasher Sculpture Center Store at NorthPark Center, for the opening of Fashion at the Park on Wednesday morning, March 26.

The fashion-forward window installations, which will be intricately hand-crafted by the designer himself, will feature life-sized, wax figures influenced by the Parisian runways of years past. “It was important to me to create an art installation that was relevant to the art and fashion worlds” said Mr. Little. “ I looked back to the eighteenth century, when wax dolls dressed in the latest Paris couture were sent all over Europe to advertise the preeminence of French Fashion. Of course, we went a little crazy, and gave this a completely modern take on both wax and fashion.”

The Nasher Sculpture Center Store represents the entire collection of D.L. & Co, which includes decadent candles and chocolates, sterling silver figurines, luxurious stationery, and hand-painted decorative plates. Dana Mullins, Director of Stores, believes the Nasher Sculpture Center Store will be the perfect backdrop for this unique installation. “After seeing Douglas’ work and his particular aesthetic, I knew instantly that this would be a great collaboration. His wax sculpture installations will symbolize and celebrate the alchemy of fashion into art,” said Ms. Mullins.

This isn’t the first time Mr. Little has created window installations for public viewing. His elegant "Gothic Splendor" installation for the Fifth Avenue windows at Bergdorf Goodman garnered national attention and was a featured editorial in House & Garden magazine in their November 2006 issue.

Patron Members of the Nasher Sculpture Center will have the opportunity to meet Mr. Little at a private reception to take place on Tuesday, March 25 from 6-8 pm at the Nasher Sculpture Center.

Please note: Store Director Dana Mullins and Designer Douglas Little are available for interviews all day on Wednesday, March 26 and during Fashion at the Park.
